Dillon is an Honours student in the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean, after having completed his BSc in Marine Biology and Oceanography. His research links the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean with WA Fisheries (Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development) on a project on the difference in the age structures and growth patterns of tropical fisheries species in areas open and closed to fishing in the north of WA. Dillon joined the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean in May 2024 in a voluntary capacity to work with fisheries data and develop a greater understanding of fisheries impacts on marine ecosystems. He has an intense passion for R coding and fisheries science. He hopes to improve his capabilities both as a marine scientist and a quantitative analyst in Australia and his home country of Singapore.
